Neighborhood Accomplishments
2023-2024 (Present)
2019-2022
Supervisor Joel Engardio in partnership with City Administrator Carmen Chu secured an incremental $3.4 million to fund maintenance along Sunset Boulevard.
-
$2.9 million for recycled water line construction (Controller's office will release funding in calendar year 2025 for this project)
-
$500,000 for maintenance in FY 25 (July 1, 2024 through June 30, 2025)
Supervisor Gordon Mar in partnership with City Administrator Carmen Chu secured $3.3 million in Funding for Recycled Water, Irrigation System Repairs, and the Hiring of Additional Gardeners.
Specifically, the 2022-23 Budget includes the following:
-
$1.4 million down payment to begin converting the irrigation system on Sunset Boulevard to recycled water. This is enough funding to begin the project, which will require more funding in future budget years.
-
$935,000 to install and repair quick coupler hose bibs to allow new plants and trees to be watered. This will allow new plantings throughout the Boulevard, instead of all the new trees being planted on only a few blocks
-
$1 million per year over the next two years to hire additional gardeners to keep and maintain the Boulevard. This will create a dedicated team of gardeners for the Boulevard for the first time in over a decade.
2018
Supervisor Katy Tang started neighborhood clean-up efforts.
