David Lee's Q&A

Q1: As Supervisor, would you commit to revitalize Sunset Boulevard and ensure the corridor is maintained at a level comparable to Park Presidio Boulevard?

I commit to revitalize Sunset Boulevard. I live on 36th Avenue and the Sunset boulevard green space is very important to me.

I will meet with the General Manager of Recreation and Park and the Recreation and Park
Commission President and impress upon them that I want year-round irrigation and enhanced green space maintenance and I would ask for a maintenance schedule and monthly updates of progress. I would ask for a project schedule for the completion of the gray-water irrigation
system and would ask for regular progress reports. I would want detailed reports of when
contracts were awarded, the project scope, budgets and project updates.

Q2: Would you strongly advocate with City officials for the completion of the recycled water connection along Sunset Boulevard, ensuring year-round irrigation even during drought conditions?

Yes, I will strongly advocate with city officials for completion of this even during drought situation.

Q3: Considering San Francisco's budget deficit and the potential for future economic downturns, will you ensure that the budgets and staffing for Sunset Boulevard are maintained or increased to align with inflation and avoid service reductions?

Budgets are political documents. I will fight hard to prioritize the Sunset Boulevard are
maintained and to avoid service reductions. I commit to making the Sunset Boulevard my
budget priority for district 4.

Q4: Considering the recent artificial‑turf controversy at Crocker Amazon, would you oppose installing artificial turf on Sunset Boulevard?

Yes, I oppose it. I don’t think that is necessary for Sunset Boulevard at all.

Q5: Will you commit to drafting and submitting legislation within 12 months of your election to protect the public land along Sunset Boulevard, ensuring the corridor is preserved for public use in a manner similar to Park Presidio?

I will commit to working with friends of the Sunset Boulevard to drafting legislation to protect the corridor as preserved for public use. I have deep experience as a Rec and Park commissioner and voting rights leader with working with department heads and Supervisors to move support and resources to projects I prioritize. I will draw on those skills and experiences to win over department heads and supervisors and other leaders.
